How YOU Can Register! |
Registering to become a bone marrow donor is EASY! It involves filling out some forms and giving a small sample of blood.
There are several different ways you can register:
There are donor centers all over the US and the world that are set up to register people as marrow donors. Call them and find out their hours, then schedule a time to go in and register. If you can't find a listing, call one of the regional donor recruitment organizations.
You can also attend a donor registration drive that has been organized at a church, community center, health fair, etc. near you. Your nearest donor recruitment organization can give you a list of scheduled drives, and may even be involved in one.
And, if you're really ambitious and want to register other people besides yourself, you can organize your own donor registration drive at your school, company, church, etc. in conjunction with one of the donor recruitment organizations set up to do this kind of thing. Here's how.
If you can't find a listing for a donor center, donor recruitment organization, or registry, your local Red Cross may be able to help you.
